Day by day

Day 1
Pool and theory review
You do the theory online before you fly (PADI eLearning), then practise the skills in the pool.
Day 2
First ocean dives
Two reef dives off Playa del Carmen, 12 m maximum.
Day 3
Open Water certification
Two more ocean dives down to 18 m. You are now a PADI Open Water diver.
Day 4
Advanced: deep and navigation
Two dives: one deep dive down to 30 m and one underwater navigation dive.
Day 5
Advanced certification
Three adventure dives chosen with your instructor. You leave certified PADI Advanced Open Water.
